What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. eatcircle uses cookies and similar storage mechanisms to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Session and authentication cookies (JWT stored as an HttpOnly cookie for the web app). These are required for the site to function. You cannot opt out of these while using the service.
Preference
We store your most recent discover location and display preferences in localStorage (not a cookie) so the map doesn't reset on each visit.
Analytics
We use anonymous, first-party analytics (which pages and cook cards get viewed) to understand what's useful and what breaks. It is cookieless and stays on our own servers — no third-party advertising trackers, no Google Analytics, and no data sold or shared with advertisers. Analytics only run if you choose Accept in the cookie notice; choosing Decline turns them off entirely.
Third-party services
Stripe (payment processing) sets its own cookies when you interact with a Stripe payment element. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy. Messaging is built in-house and sets no third-party cookies. We do not embed social media trackers or advertising pixels.
Your choices
When you first visit, a cookie notice lets you Accept or Decline analytics. Your choice is remembered on your device. You can change it any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer, which reopens the notice. Declining leaves the site fully functional — only the anonymous analytics are switched off.
How to control cookies
You can also delete or block cookies using your browser settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in. Most browsers also offer an “incognito” or “private” mode that discards all cookies when closed.
